Me too…. I always heard of her and l see her time to time here in St.Petersburg visiting her Dad. One day l listened to the lyrics and her voice caught me attention. And it was Taylor Swift.

"Must be exhausting always rooting for the antihero" This just broke my heart deeply, I've been since April 2022 feeling at my worse ever and I always tried to help myself and run away from my bad feelings, but after all nothing solves anything, like if I was the antihero.

You must face all of those bad feelings... they melt away but not until they are all seen and faced with courage and acceptance ;)

Brilliant song! I think society at large underestimates how important it is to embrace our own flaws. This song might seem bleak at face value, but to people like us who constantly self-reflect, anxious that we are always the problem, blaming ourselves gives way to an immense empowerment once we own up to it. And those vulnerabilities cease to harm us. Thank you Taylor for making me feel seen.

Okay, to be honest listening to Midnights during its first day didn't gave me the same feeling of surprise like what I felt in 1989 and reputation before. But listening it on the 3rd day and 4th day and so on... It made me realized that this is definitely the Best Pop Album she ever released to date. I always love reputation as my top choice but Midnights gave me a wholly different side of Taylor. She really never disappoints. Definitely, one of the best artist of the 21st Century.

I was never a huge fan of Taylor but her last two albums are undeniably beautiful. Tears Ricochet, Hits Different, Bejewelled and Maroon are stand outs for sure. Love anti hero too. Never thought I'd be commenting on how amazing Taylor is but...she is. Her lyricism is amazing.

I don’t listen to any of Taylor Swift’s albums but she will always will have that one song that sticks with me from every era.

If you relate to this song, it's not too late to try to mend the relationships you've broken. It's not too late to stop treating everyone else like a threat just because your head is a mess. Stop hurting other people through your insecurities, mend relationships, do the difficult things, and your life will improve. You don't need to be stuck here.

I can’t express how I feel after listening this song. I’ve sometimes thought that a few songs written by her are a bit cheesy, but, this song is so different from other songs. This song honestly makes me wanna cry, because I'm realizing that I'm the problem, and that I have an attitude problem, I really want to improve myself and stop causing problems from everyone around me but idk how to do it

The first step to solving the problem is acknowledging. Finding a support system helps a lot. Finding people who can relate, but who don't enable those tendencies. People who have been through the same problems. Educating yourself. Getting to know yourself. There are endless resources. My self-help journey started with journaling. I've been in counseling for 2 and a half years. With effort and time, I promise it will all get better. It's uncomfortable and painful, but it's worth it.

I feel like its about all the bad/toxic stuff about ourselves but when she says, "it must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero" it kinda also says that, yeah, we have bad stuff, and it makes us so tired of carrying ourselves, but at the same time we are also our biggest supporter in the way that despite the bad stuff, we still hope there's enough goodness that can make us worth it

This song is so relatable in every way. It’s relatable for me personally in almost every way. The lyric “midnights become my afternoon” described something in my life perfectly. For some reason, after I graduated high school, I became a night owl. At night, I just couldn’t fall asleep. I would be wide awake and feeling like I would if it was the afternoon…

The emotional range in her voice when she sings the chorus "It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me" nearing the end of the bridge gives me chills, especially when she finishes the final "Everybody agrees" in such a deep groan-like tone with that extended hissing "s" sound--seemingly simple expressions packed with so much emotion and meaning, in my experience of it. EDIT: the subtle cuckoo sound behind the ending of the hissing "s" sound just before it ends is the icing on this metaphorical cake-bridge... At least that's what I think I'm hearing. Love it regardless

The feeling I got when listening to ‘Midnights’ for the first time is that Taylor’s got so much experience in her songwriting career that at this point she knows exactly how to capture a lot of meaning and feelings in just a couple of lines. The songs are poppy enough, maybe not as lyrical and poetic as the ones in Folklore, but they manage to carry the same exact amount of input. Amazing!

She's right, it's exhausting to root for the anti-hero. That version of yourself that you hate so much, that you can't look at in the mirror, that makes your life a mess, a faded copy of what you know it could be if only you could shake the daily, numbing pain away. The only thing you want, the thing that overwhelms you and draws your attention away from anything else, is to make it disappear. And yet, you root for it. You don't want to change really. You're terrified ,really, because if you engage in healing, you don't know what you're going for, but you know for sure what you're leaving behind. Everything you knew. The comfort you had created in your unbelonging. The anti-hero that you are, this tortured, sensitive, unique (or so you thought) soul. It takes a great deal of courage to even think seriously about healing, to formulate that will. Because in the end, what you're doing, is trying to run away from what you define yourself as, from what you think you are, have always been. It's draining to stop being the anti-hero.

The way she marries catchy pop music with honest and vulnerable lyricism never fails to amaze me- this song is both so catchy and heart-wrenching in how relatable it is🥺

A great take. That's what set her apart from her peers. Some of her peers write very meaningful and poetic lyrics but most of the time their melodies are just plain boring, forgettable or just not catchy at all. The others write some of the catchiest hooks known in the music bussiness yet their lyricism are straight up bad and repetitive. Taylor is the only one who could bridge the gap between artistic and commercial sides very beautifully and does that so effortlessly.

You have to respect this. Not only does she pour her heart out and expose such insecurities to the world (literally, in her case) which takes some guts…she also does in such a brilliantly poetic way. To have the self-awareness to be able to take those emotions and put them into such a brilliant song is something I know I could never do, despite 100% relating to the horrors of a runaway mind in the middle of the night… 👏🏻

When I first heard this song, there was only one thought in my head. It's me! Old anxious, insecure me! Taylor Swift just wrote the most relatable song ever. I loved it instantly. I've listened to it more than 20 times and I can't get it out of my head. I love the catchy rythm and the lyrics. It's perfect. A masterpiece.

I could not believe the lirics when I first heard them. They are so contemporary and reflect a soul that has done some self reflection and perhaps even some deep counseling work. They will affect many young people and hopefully - as result some of them will start some soul searching and work on healing their narcisism.

It's so crystal clear how this song's so personal and heartfelt that it could resonate with anyone who's struggling with occasional or frequent moments of self-loathe
